Chicago, April 11, 2009 – Building off the precedent set at last fall’s Miami Beach events, this year’s Farr 40 North American Championship will be preceded by the Windy City Match Race (WCMR). The third-annual WCMR, a benefit regatta for the Children Affected by AIDS Foundation, will kick off the week’s racing September 22-23, followed immediately by the North American Championship September 24 – 27. Racing will be hosted by the Chicago Yacht Club and the Farr 40 Great Lakes fleet.

The Committee invites interested competitors and spectators to preview what’s in store this year for this championship week in Chicago – both on and off the water: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=myXychM1PAk and www.windycitymatchrace.org.
