Windy City Match Race Gears Up for Great Event

In its third year, the Windy City Match Race (WCMR) will kick off a terrific week of fall racing in Chicago as the prelude to the 2009 Farr 40 North American Championship (NAC). The Farr 40 match race takes place at Belmont Station September 21 – 23, followed immediately by the NAC September 24 – 27. Racing will be held at Chicago Yacht Club’s Belmont Station.

Chicago Yacht Club member Don Wilson has participated in the event on and off the water since its inception in 2007. Last year’s champion, Wilson will return to defend his title on board Convexity, and his company DRW Trading Group will again return as an event sponsor. WCMR is proud to announce that Wilson has also agreed to be this year’s honorary chairman.

The Notice of Race is posted online and the event is currently accepting requests for invitation through July 1.
